Weekend Recap

This past weekend I went to one of my favorite places, Morehead City, (have y'all caught on that my favorite places are all beach towns?) to visit my friend Kristen.  We soaked in some sunshine, did a little shopping, and a lot of socializing.

It was absolutely beautiful on Saturday and we went out on the boat.  There were tons of jellyfish washed up on the shore.  I, of course, think they are pretty little creatures. (But I know I wouldn't think that if I got stung by one...)

More to come on my coral tunic later!

I got this Lilly P Elsa top on RLL a few weeks ago and am in a heated search for a white cotton Elsa top (they only make the silk ones now) in a XS.  If you see any or ever sell yours if you have one, let me know!!

We had a lot of fun, but I didn't take enough pictures.  I'll be sure to get more when I go back to MHC for Memorial Day!!

Blair Waldorf's Eyeshadow

Recently on Gossip Girl there is one thing that I have been loving.  It ain't the storyline, it isn't Serena trying to be Gossip Girl, and it CERTAINLY isn't Dan and Blair dating (I mean really....why do they think we like this? and PLEASE Dan, cut your hair, I cannot deal with your scraggly, wanna-be-literary look much longer)

The thing I am loving about Gossip Girl is Blair Waldorf''s amazing eyeshadow.  I mean that girl could make anything look good, and I'm sure she's been rocking colored eyeshadow the whole time the series has been on, but I just now am really noticing it.

I love the look of the purple color below.  But I am about 100% sure that if I tried to rock it I could not pull it off like she does.  I mean I have purple eyeshadow at home, you know the ones in those large eyeshadow pallettes, that I have NEVER dared to touch except maybe for Halloween, but after seeing her rock it, there is a good chance I might be trying it soon.

and here is another recent example of Blair's fabulous eyeshadow.  It's hard to see here, but this golden color was really pretty and popped on TV.

I am very close to emailing Possessionista to see if she can find out what colors these are!!

Have y'all ever tried bold colors of eyeshadow?  If so, help a sister out!  Which ones are good?

Two of My Favorite Things (and one not so favorite thing)

I named this post "Two of My Favorite Things" because I am about to talk about the color navy and my favorite shoe, Mr. Jack Roger.  Literally two of my favorite things (right up there with football, the color coral, french fries, potato chips, the coast, and summertime)

I spied these bad boys a couple of weeks ago and CANNOT stop thinking about them.... (Maybe I missed that they've made solid navy Jack Rogers before, but I don't remember ever seeing them)

Jack Rogers Cabo Navy

What do y'all think of these?  I'm trying to think of how often I would wear them...  I had been thinking about getting a black pair to mix in with my metallics, but then I saw these... and I mean if I'm going to get a dark color, why not get navy??

They would certainly look good with the loads of coral I have in my closet.  With pink, orange, aqua, and 99% of the nautical items I own.  and they'd look good with white pants and shorts.

and while we are on the subject of Jack Rogers, I actually cannot wear them at the moment because of this small mishap that's on my foot. This would be the not so favorite thing.

(yes, my shower curtain is coral!!)

A word to the wise.  If you own a floor length mirror, and it has came out of the frame (1st red flag), throw the durn thing away.  (I'm probably the only person who would keep this)  A few weeks ago I was trying to straighten my hair and because it takes like 30 minutes I sit in front of a floor length mirror to do it.  and while I was getting the mirror out from under my bed (it's under there because it's ugly, 2nd red flag) I pulled it into my foot and sliced it pretty good.  The stitches are now out, butttt it's infected. (The picture I shared with you above is mild compared to what it's looking like right now)  Due to the whole mirror slicing foot incident and the placement of the straps, I cannot wear my beloved Jack Rogers right now.  Wearing closed-toed shoes while it's 80 degrees in late April is driving me crazy, but I keep telling myself it's just temporary.

Dear right foot, please get better before Friday because we are going to the beach and I know you don't want to make me rock closed-toed flats at the beach! I don't want to have to force you if you're not ready, so let's go ahead and get better for the sake of nautical fashion.

Kindly, your owner Jana

Nautical iPhone Cases

I have always wanted an iPhone (I have a Droid right now and am trying to hold onto it until the iPhone 5 comes out), but I haven't wanted one for the reason that most people want one.  I want an iPhone because of the nautical phone cases that are made for them (they don't have these for Droids!) Yes, I have want a phone mainly for the case.  True story.  The first nautical phone case I ever saw was the case below, which is, of course, by none other than Lilly P.  I was totally sure that this would be this case I'd get when I get an iPhone. I mean it has seahorses on it.

BUT recently I have been coming across these other nautical beauties and let's just say it's a good thing the iPhone 5 doesn't come out for a long time because I have no idea which one I want more (They better make all of these for the iPhone 5!!)  I might have to get a few and switch them up like one does nail polish or eyeshadow...
