mollybeads Giveaway!!

Giveaway has ended. Thanks for entering!!

As promised, it’s giveaway time!

For my very first giveaway, I am sooo excited to team up with Molly Anderson of mollybeads!  Molly is a Raleigh-based jewelry designer and has been making jewelry since she was 14 years old!  A few years ago, Molly quit her corporate job to pursue her jewelry business full-time.  With designs that gracefully balance current trends with lasting beauty, mollybeads is a very popular jewelry line at boutiques here in Raleigh and throughout North Carolina.  She also sells to stores in South Carolina and Virginia.  I met with Molly last week and enjoyed getting to know her and hearing about how she took the big leap from the corporate world to making mollybeads her full-time career.

Knowing my love for all things sea-inspired, you can imagine how pumped I was when I walked into a local boutique a few weeks ago and saw the most beautiful pair of gold, sand dollar earrings staring at me through the glass display.   I honestly just stood there and admired them for 3 straight minutes until a girl working in the store asked me if I’d like for her to get them out of the case.  I knew that once she retrieved them, they were not going back in there and were coming home with me.

So here’s the good part for y’all, Molly has graciously given me a pair of these lovely sand dollar earrings to give away to one of you!

Andddd to add to that, she also gave me a pair of her fabulous seahorse earrings to give away!!  (There will be two winners, one for the sand dollars and one for the seahorses)

I am going to be very envious of the person who wins the seahorse earrings, because I don’t have a pair yet and I LOVE them.

Friday's Fancies - Springing in the Rain

This week for Friday's Fancies, with {av} at {long distance loving}, I decided to go with a rain gear theme in honor of my new rain boots and the fact that spring is almost here!!  Some of you may already know this from Twitter, but I found out this week that I won a pair of Hunter boots from a giveaway at The Vogue Diaries! I was so shocked and pumped that I actually won, there were over 800 comments for the giveaway... I get to choose the color, so I have been going back and forth between red, navy, and black.  (I wish they made coral...) If I get red ones, they would be perfect for football games and if I get navy or black they would go with tons of stuff.  Help, what color should I get??

and note that I included a frizz spray in this set.  Let's not pretend that I can look even a little bit put together when it's raining with out one...

Giveaway

I promise I haven't forgotten about my giveaway! I am really excited about it! It should be up on Monday (that is if my internet will stop messing up...)  I am super pumped about what I'm giving away.  I have teamed up with an awesome, local jewelry designer.... Here are two more clues.

Sand dollars and sea horses.

woot! woot!

Happy Thursday Night!!!!

Top 5 Things!

Big thanks to my good blogging friend Lindsay, at Vineyard Loveknots, for tagging me to list my top 5 things I cannot live without! I agree with Lindsay, I have many things I could put on this list, but here are 5 (other than my cell phone) that are high priority.

1. Moisturizer with SPF - I do not leave the house without SPF on my face. Never. Ever. Ever. I am a little OCD about sunscreen, but we’ll leave that for a separate post. I am currently using CeraVe AM Moisturizing Lotion and I love it. I had an allergic reaction to some Eucerin face wash around Christmas and had to start using skin products for super sensitive skin (even though Eucerin is supposed to be for sensitive skin…) This keeps my face hydrated all day and so far, I haven’t had an allergic reaction to it!!

2. Sunglasses - I am the queen of squinting so I always have to have sunglasses with me. People pick on me for wearing sunglasses in the rain or when it’s overcast outside, but if I don’t have them on I am mega-squinting and my eyes water. I just got these sunglasses and I love them. They are polarized which I was told is supposed to help with glare, hopefully this is true.

3. Makeup – foundation, concealer, blush - If you refer back to #1 and my love for sunscreen, you’ll understand why I can’t really go without some color on my face. My face hasn’t gotten sun in years so it is extremely pale and gray-colored without makeup on. It’s so pale, that when my parents saw me at the beach a couple of summers ago without makeup on, my mom made me sit down because she thought I was sick… haha  After having to go without makeup for a week, thanks to the allergic reaction I had on my face (doctor’s orders), I have a new appreciation for makeup and will never take it for granted again!! I could care less about ever wearing mascara or eye shadow, but it is beneficial for me and everybody else around me if I have some color on my face :-) I use mineral foundation, Laura Mercier concealer, and a whole ton of different blushes (I’ll do some makeup review posts at a later date)

4. DVR! - I could live without this if I had too, I really could, but it is one of my favorite inventions and one of the things I use the most.  I love tv and I love being able to watch way too many shows on television. I also can live my life without having to worry if I am missing something on tv… haha

5. Vitamins aka Meat Pills - If you read my post here, you know that I don’t eat meat…buttttt that I also don’t really eat a lot of vegetables either. Due to my carbitarian diet, I take a lot of vitamins. Below is a (kind of embarrassing) picture of my GNC vitamin case that a guy at work labeled “meat pills” He always says “If you ate meat, you wouldn’t have to take a buttload of vitamins everyday” He’s a funny guy.

On a seprate note, another of my good blogging friends is hosting a fabulous giveaway and today is the last day to enter! Ashton, at Soulshine, is giving away a $25 gift card to J Crew and a Surcee Press journal.  Click here to enter!!

and speaking of Ashton, I am officially tagging her to list her top 5 things she cannot live without!

Last night, I spent some quality time with the ladies of Vestique and got to see all their stuff in person (we also talked a lot about the Bachelor and how much we love Emily!)  I was surrounded by many beautifal pieces of clothing that looked even prettier in person than they do online.  Below are a few more of my favorite Vestique pieces.  There is just SO much stuff I love, it's hard to choose.

Baby Gift!

I ordered this as a baby gift for a friend and just have to show it y'all before I give it to her! (Yes, it is a football helment and it's for a girl, but her parents love NC State football, so I had to get this shirt for her!) How cute is baby Ila going to be in this?? Paired with some leggings and a cute hairbow, she's going to be the cutest dressed baby at a NC State football tailgate this coming season!!

I ordered this off of Etsy from Sew Creations.

(I know I said that my Part II Vestique picks would be up today, but I had major internet issues last night, so hopefully they'll be up tomororw!)
