Advice!

I need some advice on some beauty products and what better place than to turn than y'all?

Issue #1 - I notice in pictures that even if I put an obscene amount of blush on (and I usually do) that IT'S NOT SHOWING UP and I am looking pale. I know it's probably the flash, but it's making me mad... ha  My face doesn't look pale in real life (I use mineral foundation, bronzer, blush and the foundation is the right color for me face, not too pale) but in pictures... I am looking pasty. I just want my durn blush to show up! I didn't use bronzer in the pictures while in Savannah, maybe I should have, maybe that would help... But I don't want to look pale in the pictures for the wedding this weekend.

Do you have any tips for me?  Does anyone use cream blush?  If so, what do you think of it?  Anyone have a really good all-over face highlighting powder?

Issue #2 - Can anyone recommend a good self tanner?  I will never go to another tanning bed, and I don't want to get spray tanned for the first time right before the wedding. (I should've done it last week to make sure I don't turn orange since I've never done it before...)

Hey girl, I had the same problem because I was using too dark of a shade of blush. I went and got my makeup done at Mac and I picked up a shade called Pink swoon (Seems similar to Nars Orgasm blush)it is a very bright pink blush and shows up great in pictures. I use it along with my bronzer and I love it! Hope you find something great. I am sure you will look beautiful in the wedding!

I am not expert on the blush but I would go with the spray tan before I would use self tanner. I just got my first spray tan this January and it was perfect. I got tons of compliments and it didn't look orange at all!

But... it you are going to use self tanner I really like the wipes by L'Oreal they have bronzer in them so you can see where you have already wiped it on, just be careful of putting too much , thats what I did and a few parts of me were really dark!

Good luck!

Nars 'Orgasm' blush and MAC 'Golden' bronzer are what I swear by!

I use MAC mineralize skinfinish in medium plus and NARS bronzer in laguna and I also use a shimmery duo color from NARS called hungry heart. I don't really feel I look pale in pictures.. Maybe your base color is too light now that it's spring/summer?

And- I am ADDICTED to mystic tans! But, they can get quite pricey especially if you do them a few times a month. So I have built up a good base of tanning outside + spray tanning and I just started to use Neutrogena micro-mist airbrush sunless tanner in medium and it's working perfectly, gives just the right amount of color and doesn't smell as bad as the mystic.

Hope this helps!

hello! i read recently that the reason we appear paler in photos when a flash is used is from wearing foundations, moisturizers, mineral powders that have SPF in them.
so..my suggestion would be to only wear spf in the daytime when you need them and to try and find a foundation without spf for night time and when you know pictures will be taken of you.
but as far as liquid blush goes. when i need blush in the winter (when im not sun kissed :) ) i usually use benefit's "benetint" in the lighter shade.
hope this helps.

I use Mac 'Peachy Keen' and it's the perfect coral pink blush that brings out your tan! Love it :)

I use Benefit's Bentint or Posietint. Bentint is a rosier red color and Posietint is more of a little pink. You apply it before putting on your blush. It basically a cheek stain. It helps hold your blush and stays on through the day when your blush does wear off.
